Asbury Park Boardwalk, a renovated 19th-century oceanfront walkway adorned with contemporary murals and seafood eateries, is a popular destination for tourists. The boardwalk hosts various events to raise funds for shore protection and restoration projects. It's also the only beach on Jersey Shore where dogs can accompany their owners during off-season months. Additionally, Sunset Lake Memorial Park honors Asbury Park's war veterans and is located just two blocks from the boardwalk.
Well known spot but a nice secret to take a family and relax for the day or more . I went with my children and was an amazing time. We at at the TV famous Cousins lobster 🦞 had lobster rolls to die for !! Also ice cream next door. Like all the best parts of OC and AC together in one without the gambling and smoke around .... recommended for a future visit for anyone.

It was a very nice day in Asbury today. There was a Lobster Race going on, not real lobsters, but people running or walking a 5K to raise money to help protect and restore the shore. There was a band playing on the boardwalk. There were some places to eat on the boardwalk, but not everything was open yet. I think this is the only beach on the Jersey Shore that dogs are permitted on the boardwalk during the off season, Sept. 15- May 15. Sunset Lake Memorial Park is two blocks from the boardwalk. It's a tribute to the men and women of Asbury Park who served in their country's Armed Forces in time of war. You need to pay for parking on the street year-round, but parking lots are free off season.

When Eleanor was little, I would book hotel rooms along the Jersey shore so she could take afternoon naps while the big kids kept playing under their father's supervision. During those years, we experimented with different towns that had various mixtures of kid and adult activities. Eventually, we settled on Asbury Park as having the perfect combination to occupy everyone in our family. On our last trip, we stood on the boardwalk listening to live music being performed at the Stone Point venue across the street.

Good clean and family friendly beach, they charge usd 10 per person, kids and adults alike. Entry to the beach is free after 5:30 pm, which gives good time for folks to enter and enjoy day light and water. They have once of the best boardwalk. Ample eating and dining options.

My pictures are in different seasons- Both sides evaluated…. Sunny Pics- If you love tons of people around, loud music and a busy beach, great place to go and a lot to do May through Sept. do you like the quiet atmosphere with a great walk and great views? Come in Late Sept to March. I would suggest parking in Ocean Grove (next town) and walk around town first to look at the houses, then walk their boardwalk to Ashbury Park. Nice place to take pictures, get your steps, take in the nice sea air. I recommend going both season!

Saint Patrick’s Day parade and the place was jumping. It was cold, but warm in the sunshine. Who doesn’t love a parade?! High school bands showing their talents, VFW’s, soldiers, mummers, bagpipes all in one place celebrating in green and white!!

It’s a great boardwalk if you’re in central jersey. There are restaurants that have good food and a small carnival that always goes on there.Great place to run and/or take a walk. Also the beach is nice and clean and have access to all the amenities required.Parking gets crazy sometimes. Even getting in and out is a hazzle. And the entrance to the beach is $9 for adults over the weekend.

MUST GO BEFORE 9AM AND PARKING IS FREE, this is a great place to walk, bike and walk the dog, go extra early, I would go from 6am to 9am, because parking is free up to 9am and we rode our bikes all the way to Belmar, so much fun, riding next to the ocean!

I always enjoy the Variety of things to do here. You can just walk on the boardwalk, go shopping, lay on the beach, go swimming in the ocean, take your kids to the sprinkler park, eat at a nice restaurant, or get a satisfying snack, a refreshing drink, and so much more. Enjoy every minute. 😁

Asbury Park boardwalk is an amazing place for the family. So many things to do. So clean. I would recommend it to anyone

Even though it was out of season (October) and very overcast, the view was stunning and there was plenty to keep us busy. The history and restoration of the old Convention Center and the art installations were enough to occupy our afternoon.

It was my first time visiting to Asbury Park Boardwalk and I immediately noticed how different this boardwalk is from typical Jersey shore one. Closest comparison would be with Coney Island boardwalk in Brooklyn: vibe, smell and spirit of these places are similar. Maybe because both are historical with bunch of food options on the boardwalk, certainly both places use same wooden planks for cover.

Asbury Fest was wonderful. Great food and good live music. Beautiful weather second weekend of June

Asbury Park boardwalk is probably the most famous boardwalk of the whole NJ. Bruce Springsteen & Don Bon Jovi cut their teeth at the nearby Stone Pony. This was where the well heeled crowds flocked to in the summer, until the Parkway was built & changed everything. It fell into disrepair in the 70s & 80s, but is burgeoning once again, thanks to the artist community, micro-breweries & famous chefs opening shop there. In short, if you don't know Asbury Park and the Bohemian, equally charming Ocean Grove, then you don't know the Jersey Shore.

The Asbury Park beach and boardwalk of today are not the same ones I knew growing up. Today they are full of businesses, beachgoers, foodies and people who just want to enjoy the sounds of the waves. The boardwalk has been refurbished, and there are many new restaurants and hotels. In addition, to famous landmarks like the Stone Pony where Bruce Springsteen got his start. The boardwalk itself is rather accessible, it could get bumpy at times. There is access to the beach as you can see in some of the photos. However, it only will let you go halfway to the water. This is great for a day trip, or a weekend trip so long as you don't stay too close to the beach as the hotels are rather pricey. Head on out and enjoy yourself!

Really neat place and lots to do around here. The boardwalk is in good condition and it’s a nice stroll along the beach.

Although we didn't come here for the purpose of the beach, I had never visited Asbury Park and we were close enough for me to check out the infamous boardwalk. So many fun options for food, treasures and even a cool arcade. It almost felt like I was in the past, seeing the well loved exterior eroded by ocean air. While we didn't step onto the beach, the sand looked clean and well kept as people played with volleyballs and kids ran around. It was a very relaxed environment! My favorite part (of course) was taking photos of the incredible art that's been proudly displayed on the walls of the abandoned area of boardwalk. It was like walking a free outdoor art museum. If you're in the area and have the time to stop off and check the art out I highly recommend! Looking forward to going back for more exploration when we have the time to spend.

good fun and shopping for the whole family. they make it really easy to get on the beach. you pay per person and can rent an umbrella for cheap. otherwise enjoy plenty of carnival rides, shooting galleries, arcades, dessert shops, and plentiful restaurants.

Best time, morning when the sun is rising at 5.30am late spring - early summer.

This is an iconic boardwalk well worth a visit. It has a special vibe, at least to me. It's hayday has long past and it's second coming has yet to fully arrive, but it is getting there. I love visiting anytime of year.Parking is a major negative, especially during summer. They run the meters year round. In winter, I'll park in Ocean Grove and walk over.

The Asbury boards are smooth for walking and riding and have much to offer for people who appreciate an incredible musical scene, artwork, and adult entertainment—several Bars and Restaurants.Convention Hall and the old Carousel House buildings are historical gems and a must-see.

Neat and clean board walks. One of the good places in Jersey to hang out on a sunny day

Love coming here early in the morning and walking the boardwalk. It's so peaceful and serene. The old architecture of Convention Hall against the majesty of the ocean, sun rising above the horizon just brings a sense of zen.During the day, it's a fun, busy place with great eats and views. The beach can get a bit crowded, but it's well worth coming and checking out.

The first visit to Bradley Cove was an incredible experience, as it marked the first time bringing a dog to the beach. It is regrettable that dogs are only permitted on the beach before 6 pm, but this rule safeguards against overheating concerns. The area provided ample space for both dogs and people to enjoy themselves, with numerous friendly canines enjoying playtime. Additionally, there were convenient restroom and shower facilities nearby, complete with detachable shower heads for easy clean-up.
Beautiful beach to bring your dogs too. Short walk out to the water on the stone wall is great for a nice picturesque setting. Dogs will love being able to run on the beach and put their paws in the ocean.

Dogs allowed during specific times on the beach. Check before you come. Nice little fishing pond in the back side of the beach. Clean restrooms.

Had such an amazing experience brining my dog to the beach for the very first time. I just wish that you were able to bring your dog on the beach before 6 pm, yet there is a silver lining in that rule because I didn’t have to worry about my dog overheating. There were plenty of friendly dogs and space for them all to play as well as space for people to sit and relax. The beach is right next to restrooms and showers with a detachable shower head which was a nice touch when it came time to clean up and head back to the car. overall an amazing experience!

It's a great beach to bring your dog to, I don't want to take any stars away because it really is a great dog beach. I just don't understand why dog's are not aloud on the "Dog Beach" most of the day. Dog's need to be off the beach by 8:30am and can return at 6pm.
Robert V — Google review
There is lack of explanation about dog accessibility. This beach allows dogs only after 6pm which I don't call it as Dog Beach. Please do not come earlier otherwise a lady will crazily yell at you and your dogs.

It was good. First time there. (Thanksgiving 2021). One of my pups ran off twice so had to leash her. The other shadows me. But great to have the option to go do this. Clean beach. Friendly folks with well-behaved dogs. If fenced properly, it could be a year-round option.

We had an amazing time at the dog beach! Our pup was nervous at first but all the dogs were very friendly and everyone was enjoying the sun and sand. We parked on the street but there is a closer parking lot right next to the beach, unsure if this paid or unpaid. We will definitely be back!

Amazing spot to just relax and chill with your friends on a weekend. We visited Asbury Park on one of the better days of summer. It is refreshing to hang out here for a day. Remember to carry your beach towels and foldable chairs!

Love to bring my 80lb puppy here. Great off leash dog beach. Clean with plenty of trash cans. Always have some dogs to play with.

BE AWARE PEOPLE: DOGS APPARENTLY ARE NOT PERMITTED BEFORE 6PM. We didn’t know that, and we made the trek all the way over here specifically so my dog could enjoy himself. Unfortunately, some lady at the entrance told us “no dogs before 6.” The nice thing about this beach is it’s emptier than the other side of the beach. But if you look at my photo, there was a lady there with her dog, before 6pm. Was not a service animal so 🤷🏽♀️ I wonder why no one reprimanded her.

Asbury Park Dog Beach is a fantastic off-leash location where dogs can roam free and play with other pups. It's a stress-free environment for pet parents, and the beach offers plenty of space for doggos to run around. The atmosphere is friendly, making it easy to make new friends while your furry companion enjoys some off-leash fun.
What an AMAZING time! What else can you ask for? A beach and doggies running free playing together! Everyone and the pups are so nice and it was a great time. We will be back many times for sure :)

Came here for the sunrise with my toy poodle. Unfortunately it rained and we didn’t see much and just left early. He loved it here though. There was just poop everywhere so that wasn’t fun to see. I had to constantly watch where I was stepping.

Our dog had never seen the ocean! LOVED IT!! Lots of dogs, no leash, room to run and run. And a big ocean that retreated when barked at. And then came vengefully back! WOWSERS.

Fun. Frantic. (Keep your head on a swivel or you WILL get knocked over.) The dogs are so joyful. This is a happy place. Open Every day UNTIL 0830 in the morning. And every evening AFTER 6pm.

Nice beach to take the dog and also to do alittle fishing
Robert P — Google review
A beach dedicated to dog lovers on one side of the jetty. This ploy can be a good way to make new friends as dogs can become a catalyst between people with something in common. First they make friends, then it's up to you. On the north side of the jetty, called Deal Lake Flume, waves can be large, regular rollers, perfect for surfing. On the jetty, a pipe allows ebb and flow of Deal Lake, providing several types of fishing opportunities, day and night and a perfect vantage point to photograph surfers riding good sized waves.

My puppy always loves coming here after Yappy Hour at the Wonderbar. Sunset hour is amazing!
